ABOARD THE AFA 166, THE WORLD IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

Comfortable, refined and equipped with a vast array of computerised
instruments, the new Alfa 166 very much reflects the high-tech world
outside - albeitwithout the strains and stresses. At the heart of the operation
is a triumph of user-friendly technology: the Integrated Control System (ICS)
which can provide the driver with an in-car entertainment system,
GSM telephone, satellite navigation and an on-board computer.

Integrated Control System (ICS)
The Integrated Control System (ICS) is the nerve centre of the Alfa 166's cabin,
performing a whole host of different functions.
Via its 5"colour monitor, the driver can access data from the on-board computer,
alter the interior climate, use the car's hi-fi system, plot aroute and be guided
there by voice instructions, and also make telephone calls to anywhere in the
world (depent on the options fitted).
On all Alfa 166 models, the ICS gives the driver direct access to:
- The climate control system
- The tripcomputer
- The standard stereo radio cassette with eight speakers
It can then be upgraded to feature any one or all of the following:
- A Becker hi-fi unit, Sony CD player and ten loudspeakers
- A hands-free GSM carphone
- A satellite navigation system
- Steering wheel mounted audio and ICS controls
The brightness of the display screen adjust itself automatically to the light intensity within the cabin thanks to a sensor on the central console.
Although angled towards the driver, the ICS can also be operated by the front seat passenger and is viible from the rear seats, as well.

Climate control, stereo
